Tip – Moving Preparations During a Pandemic

You might have decided now that this is a good a time as ever to move house, or maybe you are considering it and are still not sure how to go about it while still keeping you and your family safe. Well, we have a tip or two, you’ve probably heard them before, but when times are tough and other stresses take-up brain space, it doesn’t hurt to repeat the basics, if only to reassure ourselves.

Amid a whole host of to do’s sometimes packing can feel like a drag. It’s easy to procrastinate it to the very end, any last-minute doers out there? To make life easier for yourself, it’s best to start packing the day you know your moving date, that way you can spread the workload over a series of days or months. Another important benefit of starting early is that you reduce the potential of spreading any form of virus, especially in these pandemic times we find ourselves in. How so? you may ask. Well, the virus on contaminated surfaces is likely to have decreased significantly by two days. So packing before the movers arrive ensures everyone’s safety.

Start with the part of your house/apartment and items you haven’t used in a while e.g three to six months or longer. The chances that you’ll need to use these before you move are low, so it likely won’t be of any inconvenience to you. Work your way to the everyday things you will need in your new place, these can be packed in on the last day: your remaining kitchen utensils, bathroom essentials, and the regular wardrobe will probably fall into this category as well.

Trying to move everything by yourself, while cheaper is tempting however, hiring a moving company relieves the stress of having to pack, load and unload everything by yourself. We pride ourselves in making sure your move to your new home is always an easy transition. Also when you hire a moving company your property tends to be insured, another concern off your shoulders.

So as you look forward to or maybe think about packing it all up and moving, we hope we’ve helped you a little.
